This nationally recognised course equips participants with the practical skills and knowledge to effectively respond to workplace emergencies as part of an Emergency Control Organisation (ECO).

Learners will develop the knowledge required to implement emergency response actions in line with established workplace procedures or under the direction of a higher-level ECO member.

Participants will learn to operate confidently within the command, control, and coordination structure of the ECO, playing a critical role in keeping their workplace safe and prepared.

This course can be paired with Small Workplace Emergencies PUAFER008 (Fire Safety and Extinguisher Training) to provide the team with the confidence to remove and rescue their workmates, alert the relevant authorities for assistance, contain and extinguish the fire, and then evacuate when required.

*Australian Standard AS3745-2010 – Planning for emergencies in facilities – advises that ECO members should attend a skills retention activity at intervals not greater than 6 months.
